EES MACsec H-MTD

Product Description

The Enhanced Ethernet Switch MACsec H-MTD (EES MACsec H-MTD) is an Automotive Ethernet switch with powerful AVB/TSN capabilities that allows connecting eight 100/1000BASE-T1 Automotive Ethernet ports and two 1Gbit/10Gbit Ethernet ports available through SFP+ connectors.  

The special feature of this variant (EES MACsec H-MTD) is the support of the MACsec technology, which is implemented in hardware, allowing MACsec to run at full speed, up to 1Gbps. In addition, it supports Automotive MKA (MACsec Key Agreement), implemented by Technica Engineering.  

The Enhanced Ethernet Switch MACsec H-MTD can establish virtual networks, using single-tagged VLANs (802.1Q) and double-tagged VLANs (802.1Q-in-Q), thus enabling filter and control over data streams. Each port provides eight levels of Quality of Services (QoS) classes and advanced traffic filtering capabilities with ingress and egress rules. This ensures the prioritization, resource reservation, and control mechanisms over the data received.  

Through an integrated configuration website, the user can easily configure the device for their use cases, abstracting the complex underlying switch hardware. This includes MACsec and MKA, VLANs, port mirroring, forwarding,filtering, packet inspection via TCAM rules, port segmentation, and many other features offered by the Layer 2 switch.  

The EES MACsec H-MTD provides a reliable time synchronization PTP stack that follows the gPTP/ 802.1AS automotive standard from AVNU Alliance and also partially supports the IEEE 1588-2008 standard for time synchronization. The stack allows various customization possibilities to adapt to most customer use cases. One highlight is the support of multiple PTP or gPTP bridges at the same time. Our product is also capable of Audio Video Bridging (AVB) functions with the support to statically configure stream reservation and shaping features (802.1Qav).  

The Enhanced Ethernet Switch is prepared for additional TSN functionalities support: 802.1Qav, Qci, Qbv, and Qbu. Customer-specific use cases can be supported, if needed. Contact the Technica Engineering sales team for additional information.
